Product Compliance Specialist

You will join a fast-scaling European smart home and building automation company as a Product Compliance Specialist, where you’ll take ownership of product regulatory compliance across international markets. With a growing technical hub in Romania, this role places you at the center of certification strategy, product safety, and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and interpret European regulations and standards, advising teams on necessary product certifications
- Prepare and maintain documentation such as declarations of conformity, risk assessments, and technical files
- Coordinate testing and certification with external labs to ensure product readiness and safety
- Lead SOP creation and ensure compliance is embedded into product development, supplier collaboration, and go-to-market strategy
- Stay current with evolving standards (RoHS, REACH, TSCA, Conflict Minerals, PAHs, CP65, POPs, Swedish Law 2016:1067) and provide training to internal teams
- Support supplier compliance efforts in collaboration with business, engineering, and procurement
- Assist with preparing regulatory reports and documentation for audits or inspections
- Proactively identify risks and improvement areas across compliance processes and systems
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Chemistry, Law, or a related field
- 5+ years’ experience in product compliance within the electronics industry
- In-depth knowledge of RoHS, REACH, TSCA, PAHs, CP65, POPs, Conflict Minerals
- Experience preparing compliance documentation and managing certification processes
- Strong attention to detail, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Clear and confident communication skills in English
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple stakeholders
- Willingness to travel as needed
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Certifications such as CCEP, CRCM, or equivalent
- Familiarity with sustainability or environmental compliance initiatives
- Experience in a multinational or high-growth tech environment
- Proactive ownership of compliance processes
- Ability to translate regulatory detail into cross-functional action
- Strategic thinking with day-to-day operational execution
- Collaborative mindset and clear communication
