We are seeking a Mobile Developer to build performant, cross-platform (iOS and Android) mobile applications using React Native and TypeScript. You will be responsible for architecting and building these applications while coordinating with teams managing other layers of the product infrastructure.
The ideal candidate possesses a strong technical background, a passion for mobile innovation, and the ability to drive projects forward in a highly collaborative environment.
Your tasks will include:
- Working within a specialized team to build and maintain React Native apps, ensuring clean, scalable, and maintainable code
- Developing and implementing highly responsive user interfaces
- Seamlessly integrating third-party APIs and services
- Partnering with Product Owners to understand end-user requirements, formulating specifications, and contributing to ticket estimation and scoping
- Maintaining and extending unit and integration test suites (Jest) and providing application support by diagnosing and resolving production issues
- Performing thorough code reviews, enhancing documentation, and following industry standards for secure programming and testing
- Providing technical guidance and support to junior developers
- Fully upholding Information Security policies, treating customer data with the utmost care and flagging security concerns immediately
- Participating in two-week sprints, daily standups, and standard Agile ceremonies using modern tools like Git and JIRA
To be a good fit for the Mobile Developer role you will have:
- Degree-level education or equivalent demonstrable experience (including strong academic foundations in core subjects)
- At least four years of relevant commercial work experience in mobile development
- Expert-level knowledge of React Native and TypeScript
- Ability to write well-documented, clean code with a solid understanding of functional or object-oriented programming
- Experience with third-party dependencies (Yarn, npm) and code versioning tools (Git)
- Solid understanding of iOS and Android platforms, including native build tools like XCode, Gradle, and Android Studio
- Familiarity with REST APIs, offline-first strategies, and caching
- Strong problem-solving skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to take full ownership of your work.
Nice to Have:
- A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant professional certifications
- Experience working on large-scale, complex systems (specifically rostering or time-management products)
- Proven experience in an Agile development environment
- Proficiency with Bitrise, CircleCI, AppSync, or Redux.
- Knowledge of native languages such as Swift, Java, or Kotlin
