Senior Integration Engineer

You will join the Integrations team, who are responsible for both syncing data between the various systems as well as providing and managing data integrations with the third-party partners. Our development process follows Agile methodology and favours pair-programming, peer code reviews, automated testing and constant collaboration in a supportive team environment.

As a senior engineer, you will be responsible for architecting, building and maintaining our systems across several languages as well as coordinating with the teams responsible for other areas of the product infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and the ability to drive projects in a highly collaborative, Agile environment.

Your tasks will include:

• Planning and implementing features using clear, performant, tested and maintainable code. Use recognised software engineering patterns.
• Collaborating with Product Owners to understand end-user requirements and formulate specifications.
• Contributing to ticket review ceremonies (refining proposed solutions, suggesting alternatives and estimating effort).
• Understanding how to utilise AI to aid in the development lifecycle.
• Providing application support where necessary, working closely with the QA and Support teams to diagnose and fix issues in production.
• Maintaining and extending unit and integration test suites.
• Performing code reviews, enhance documentation and follow industry best practices, especially with regards to testing and secure programming principles.
• Taking responsibility for delivering new integration flows end-to-end through multiple services in multiple programming languages.
• Implementing, maintaining and improve Amazon Web Services (AWS) architecture.
• Building robust technical contracts & mappings across integrated systems.
• Providing technical guidance and mentorship to colleagues.
• Staying abreast of the latest developments in technology.
• Fully upholding the company’s Information Security Policy and treat customer data with the greatest care and respect. Flagging security concerns immediately.
• Following development processes using Git, JIRA, automated test suites, linting, CI/CD pipelines etc.

To be a good fit for the Integration Engineer role you will have:

• In depth full-stack experience contributing towards large, complex codebases connecting multiple systems.
• Deep knowledge of one or more object-oriented programming languages (PHP, Ruby or Python preferred)
• Familiarity with microservices architecture.
• An understanding of REST APIs.
• Experience using code versioning tools such as Git.
• Ability to take ownership over your work, be self-motivated and deliver quality.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• A clear communicator with the ability to adapt delivery to different audiences.
• Keen to develop and to aid the development of peers.
• A genuine interest in using technology for good.
