Java Software Engineer - Hybrid

You will join a team that contributes to the development of one of our clients core solutions. This role offers the opportunity to shape the technical direction of the product and influence its long-term roadmap.

You will work within a high-traffic system, utilizing modern technologies and applying your technical expertise and problem-solving abilities to design, develop, integrate, and maintain software components.

The annual salary for this position ranges from $73,000 to $100,000 CAD. The specific salary offered will depend on the factors outlined below and may fall anywhere within this range.

Your Tasks will include:

• Apply advanced methods and procedures independently within your designated area. 
• Provide accurate work estimates with clear commitment. 
• Develop maintainable, precise, and thoroughly tested code that adheres to best practices across the product. 
• Build services and components using modern frameworks, platforms, and tools. 
• Monitor performance dashboards, promptly address alerts, and ensure uninterrupted service functionality. 
• Assess and communicate risks, complexities, ambiguities, and dependencies effectively. 

To be a good fit for the Java Software Engineer opportunity, you will have:

• Minimum of three years of experience in Java programming and Java frameworks (preference for Spring Boot but open to alternatives). 
• Proficiency in working with Docker, cloud platforms (AWS preferred, though experience with other providers is acceptable), CI/CD pipelines, and databases. 
• Demonstrated ability to write high-quality, maintainable, well-tested code that adheres to industry best practices. 
• Practical knowledge of software development processes, with the ability to design and develop applications requiring sound judgment and problem-solving skills. 
• Familiarity with front-end frameworks such as React or Angular is an advantage. 
• Solid understanding of agile development methodologies. 
• Effective communication skills to ensure proactive status updates and risk identification within team settings.
