Director of Software Development
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the core intellectual property of our company, the Trading Partner Network. This network connects retail organizations through data transformations and a canonical data model, serving internal teams like Sales, Implementation, and Support
- Oversee all new development and maintenance of the network, ensuring the delivery of high-quality trading partner maps and implementing 5,000 production changes annually.
- Lead a dedicated engineering team focused on enhancing the scalability and quality of our mapping technology, utilizing Cloud and DevOps deployment.
- Supervise the team responsible for maintaining the core product, the canonical data model.
- Drive global 24/7 trading partner development delivery, with over half the team located in Europe
- Implement a flexible staffing model to support capacity planning and risk management, and expand this delivery approach in Europe.
- Contribute to product strategy by leveraging metadata and offering input on canonical data standards, while also participating in architecture and service governance.
- Lead efforts to adopt an open network model, allowing updates and additions to the retail network.
- Act as a key contributor to corporate strategic initiatives, often taking on critical functions that require growth or maturity, reporting directly to the CTO.
- Oversee the department's budget and manage other capital project budgets.
- Handle vendor relationships for various applications and services used by our organization.
- Champion continuous improvement and act as a change agent.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- At least 10 years of experience in leading technical or engineering teams.
- Experience in a global organization and publicly traded company is a plus.
- Experience in a software product company is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to motivate and inspire using a customer-focused, service-oriented approach.
- Strong skills in project management and facilitation.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
